Before moving to D.C., Julia lived in her hometown of Kent Island on the Eastern Shore. Her background is in teaching and social work. She graduated in 2017 from Walden University with a Master of Science in K-12 Education. She moved to D.C. in 2016 with her husband and kids for graduate school and fell in love with D.C. and The District Church. She is passionate about building community, meeting new people, and writing. She enjoys running around D.C. trails, drinking good coffee, and traveling the world. On most days, she can be found chasing her three little girls around the sights and sidewalks of this beautiful city. She loves Jesus and believes in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
