Small groups are the heart of our church community — we are a church of small groups rather than simply a church with small groups. Small groups are basically gatherings of 5-15 people, typically meeting every week for 1-2 hours in someone's home, where folks spend time studying the Bible, sharing life together, praying for one another, and finding ways to serve our community.
Don't worry if you've never been to a small group before! You won't be put on the spot and asked to (1) pray out loud, (2) read out loud, or (3) answer theological questions. Everyone is at a different place in their spiritual journey and together we are learning what it looks like to be more like Jesus.
We have small groups that meet throughout the city, in Maryland, and in Virginia. We encourage you to find a group that is located near where you live or work, or that reflects your current life stage or special interest.
Summer groups begin the week of June 4th, but you can join a group at any point, as long as they have room.
To join a group or learn more, you can use the search below and then contact the leader of the group directly. Don't know where to start? Try a Learning to Live group.

Columbia Heights - "Cicero in the City"
Cicero in the City is a seeker-oriented group, aimed especially at those who are wrestling with life's big questions. Not unlike our own day, the Roman statesman Cicero (106-43 BC) lived during a season of political and cultural turmoil. Renowned for his oratory, Cicero warned that Rome's republic was in deep decline, and he led an effort to retrieve and renew its political ideals. In Cicero in the City, we'll examine some of the great speeches in the Western tradition. We'll learn from individuals who—with courage and wisdom—spoke into the crisis of their time, as we try to live out our sense of calling and vocation in ours.Group Details

Each week, we will read and study a short passage as a group, so even if you missed your daily readings (totally ok, no guilt!), we can still hear God's Word and have a good discussion. Hope you'll join us to get Bible-fit! All are welcome, and no prior experience necessary!Group Details
