Small Groups

Small groups are the heart of our church community — we are a church of small groups rather than simply a church with small groups. Small groups are basically gatherings of 8-12 people, typically meeting every week for 1-2 hours in someone's home, where folks spend time studying the Bible, sharing life together, praying for one another, and finding ways to serve our community.

Don't worry if you've never been to a small group before! You won't be put on the spot and asked to (1) pray out loud, (2) read out loud, or (3) answer theological questions. Everyone is at a different place in their spiritual journey and together we are learning what it looks like to be more like Jesus.

Summer groups begin the week of June 2nd. You can join a group at any point, as long as they have room.

We have small groups that meet throughout the city, in Maryland, and in Virginia. We encourage you to find a group that is located near where you live or work, or that reflects your current life stage or special interest.

To join a group or learn more, you can use the search below and then contact the leader of the group directly.

For help locating the best group for you, search below or email Tee Feyrer, our Discipleship Fellow, at .

You can use the filters below in blue to sort through small group options by Member Type (Coed, Women, Men, Couples), Area of Town (Northwest, Northeast, Southeast, Maryland & Virginia), and Day of the Week.

Every Other Wednesday Evening | 2nd & G St NW ,

//Led by Daesha Roberts//Every other Wednesday Evening (2nd & G ST NE) // 6:30 pm For believers who are praying to move beyond the elementary teachings of faith toward a life of spiritual maturity (both of which are in and of Christ). The message of Hebrews 6:1-3 is clear -- when we have learned the basic foundational truths of Christianity (spiritual milk), we are called to grow up in our faith and relationship, longing for the deeper spiritual truths of the Gospel (solid food) to behold and live fully in the presence of God. The hope for this group is that those who are spiritually hungry will be filled with God's love and power of the Holy Spirit to be disciplined in prayer, scripture reading, fellowship with other believers, and regular outreach and evangelism through community service. All these things will be developed and encouraged as spiritual habits of the group for the glory of the kingdom. "So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 (NIV). This group will be following the weekly sermon-based curriculum.
